Last year, we held the festival in January 2024, which featured 108 stalls, around 50,000 participants, seminars, and cultural programs. The stalls had good sales, and traditional foods like Kanchiyum-Karuvadum, Kappaiyum Meenum, Kappaiyum Erachiyum, Uzhunthan Choru, Uzhunthu Kazhi, Pathaneer Thosai, and Puttum Meen Kariyum were special attractions, drawing great sales.
The seminar featured notable speakers such as Mr. M.G. Devasahayam, IAS (Rtd.), Mr. Suresh Ramalingam from NABARD, Balaprajathipathi Adizalar, and various writers and artists. The Science Festival also attracted students. Mr. Mano Thangaraj, Minister, and Mayor Mahesh graced the occasion.
Building on last year’s success, this year we have planned to expand the program. We also plan to honor startups from Kanyakumari District and hold a Book Exhibition featuring Kumari authors.
We appeal to sponsors for their support in this event, which aims to promote traditional food, poison-free food, traditional art and culture, and local entrepreneurs, while raising awareness. Kanyakumari should become a destination for food and eco-tourism.
